- Lincoln Electric® Lincore® 55-G Hardfacing Gas-Shielded Cored Welding Wire of 1/16" Dia is designed for automatic and semiautomatic welding. Wire comes on a spool of 25 lb. It is to be used on carbon or low alloy steel and produces deposit that resists metal-to-metal wear and mild abrasion. Weld wire deposit results in a harder matrix material when used with bulk tungsten carbide systems. Wire with unlimited deposit thickness is used for welding in all positions except overhead. Wire deposit is virtually slag free and requires less cleaning. It is used for welding with recommended shielding gas mixture of 75% Argon and 25% CO2. It is suitable for hardfacing of crane wheels, blower blades, bucket lips, dredge parts, tillage tools, chisel plows, skip guides, cams, tamper feet and extruder screws.
